ResponsibilitiesYour day-to-day (as a Data Scientist, you’ll):
- Work with our team of data gurus to build recommender systems, implement natural language processing solutions, build mathematical models to understand user engagement and retention, and find creative solutions for improving delivery of media products
- Apply advanced statistical methods to help a variety of business activities in all departments
- Design experiments, test hypotheses, and build predictive models
- Identify what data is available and relevant, and make suggestions for new data collection methods
- Use your dev know-how to implement creative solutions
Qualifications: What does it take to do this job?
- MS or Ph.D. (preferred) in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, or related field
- 2+ years of experience working as a data scientist in academia or industry.
- Excellent problem-solving skills in areas of probability, statistics, and applied mathematics. Proficient in statistical analysis, forecasting analytics, multivariate testing, and optimization techniques.
- Experience with a range of data mining and machine learning techniques, such as classification, clustering and natural language processing.
- Strong programming skills: Python or Scala preferred
- Experience with tools and libraries for statistical analysis: R, numpy/scipy, pandas, SQL
- Experience with big-data technologies: MapReduce, Hive, Spark
- Bonus: experience with deep learning libraries such as TensorFlow or Theano.
