The Global Head of Data, based in Austin,TX, will oversee the organization’s data strategy, management, and data collection processes. This role will also directly manage a support team while also maximizing the value of our investment in data and establishing a solid data platform foundation to be used consistently across the business. 

This role will be responsible for all principle data sets within CPA including the following:

  1. The “IP One” Data Project
  2. Customer Data
  3. Agency data

Key accountabilities to include:

  • Data Strategy – Optimize our investment in data and seek to ensure data seen as a core strategic asset of the business requiring appropriate levels of investment, security and protection. To look at opportunities to maximize the value of the CPA data such as the provision of Data as a Service and data Products.
  • Data Management – Establish and optimize processes to be adopted by the business to ensure that the delivery of data happens smoothly and efficiently.
  • Data Enrichment – Identify, acquire access to (APIs, partnerships) and manage data sources to enrich the data owned by CPA Global to deliver on the data strategy.
  • Data Validation – Ensure that business logic is applied consistently across the business for the validation of data.
  • Data Management Processes and Tools – Identify and extend use of
    standard tools and processes for managing data.
  • Data Analytics – Responsible for driving ‘big data’ mind set, the application of AI and machine learning to our data sets and for extracting value from our data through appropriate use of Data Science techniques.
  • Data Security – Ensuring appropriate levels of data security are applied to maintain trust in the business.
  • Data Centre of Excellence – To ensure that a network exists to capture and disseminate best practice in Data across CPA Global.
  • Data Communications - To act as a spokesperson for CPA Global on Data Standards and how those impact relevant marketing and sales related activities.

 Key Current Projects:

  • Identity - To create a single customer view across the whole of CPA Global

  • IP One Data – Including the rollout of GUID and the rationalization of Innography data and Veritas data into a single accessible set of data verification business
    logic with supporting API’s.
  • IDS – To establish an IDS service to be used by IP Platform, Apps and replace functionality within existing IPMS products.

This role excludes responsibility for financial and operational data. However, this individual is expected to contribute their knowledge and experience to ensure that CPA Global’s best practices for data management, processes, and tools are implemented across the whole business. 

This role also excludes responsibility for data management of client’s data although the individual would be expected to contribute their knowledge and experience to ensure that CPA Global’s Professional Services teams have access to, capture, and implement best practice data management processes and tools across the whole business. 

Key Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 10+ Years of Experience in Software Development or Data Engineering.

  • 8-10 Years of Management Experience

  • Experience developing and managing a Strategic Plan for the management of Data.

  • Experience using Data Management tools and resources.

  • Experience in Data Science and/or Statistical Computing.

  • Strong understanding of GDPR and similar legal frameworks and compliance globally.

  • Experience developing and interpreting Data Analytics.

  • Global management experience strongly preferred (managing remote teams, global teams).

  • Experience managing in a matrixed environment domestically and globally strongly preferred.

  • Experience with languages ‘R’ and ‘Python’ nice to have.

  • Ability to travel up to 15%.
