About the Role
As a Network Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our global network infrastructure. You'll have the opportunity to contribute your expertise to create and manage both local and wide-area networks (LAN/WAN) while ensuring their optimal functionality and security. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll be responsible for configuring and overseeing networking equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and load balancers. Your role will involve proactive network monitoring, capacity planning, and fine-tuning to guarantee high performance and reliability. Your insights and recommendations regarding new technologies and enhancements will be essential in improving our network's efficiency and resilience.
Location - We are flexible on remote working from home, if you are located in the USA and in one of the following states - TX, FL, CA, NC, GA, CT, ME, KS, NJ, and VA .
What You'll be Doing
- Design, implement, and manage complex wireless, local-, and wide-area networks (WLAN/LAN/WAN).
- Configure and maintain networking equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and load balancers.
- Perform network capacity planning, monitoring, and optimization to ensure high performance and availability.
- Troubleshoot network issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve connectivity and performance problems.
- Implement and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve network infrastructure efficiency and reliability.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to network diagrams, configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for network-related emergencies or outages.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and TCP/IP protocols.
- Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or similar. Meraki experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, CCIE) are a plus.
