Position: Senior Software Engineer (Dev Support Technical Lead)

As a Senior Software Engineer and Dev Support Technical Lead, you will be responsible for leading the Dev Support Engineering team. The Dev Support team is a team of software engineers whose responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving issues reported by our users and/or our internal quality assurance team, identifying performance improvements, and building internal tools vital to the operation of our Support, Sales, and Marketing departments.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Handle escalated technical issues and lead Dev Support engineering team in solving them.
  • Mentor other engineers on the team by giving technical guidance and code reviews.
  • Conduct case reviews to assess case handling from a technical perspective.
  • Lead team in effort to expand and enhance existing internal tools/applications.
  • Identify possible areas of improvement and development within ShipStation.

You should have:

  • Broad knowledge in web-based application development
  • 7+ years, deep experience with ASP.NET MVC/WebAPI, C# or comparable stack
  • Strong OOP design / architectural instincts
  • Unit/Integration testing experience & opinions
  • Javascript / framework experience (Backbone.js, React, jQuery, etc...)
  • Large system experience
  • Strong SQL / T-SQL skills
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills - ability to work with people with a variety of skill sets

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant experience.

Would be great to also have experience with:

  • Node.js
  • AWS (EC2, SQS, ECS, Lambda)
  • Messaging (SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, MSMQ, etc...)
  • Lucene and/or Elasticsearch
  • Web standards & accessibility
  • Running your own e-commerce business
