theCHIVE is looking for a Social Media Manager who will be responsible for programming all of theCHIVE’s social channels. If that sounds like a big task that's because it is. This individual will need to be up-to-date on the latest internet trends (e.g. are cats in or out?), have familiarity with theCHIVE’s properties and pin down our amazingly impressive voice. You will wear two hats (three if you wear an actual hat to work): you'll need to understand social distribution from both a creative and analytic perspective. You should also have proven track record of successful social marketing strategy and work well across multiple departments within a media organization. Being ahead of the latest hashtag craze doesn’t hurt, either!
Job Description:
Should have a strong handle on the most effective practices on social media platforms including, but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, as well as subprograms within, such as Instagram Stories and Facebook Live. If there's anything else out there we don't know about, you should know it.You're a video star: You should have experience in effective video content across aforementioned platforms.You're an eagle-eye: You should have a nose for trending content and stories that appear on social media before they go viral, as well as an understanding of theCHIVE voice and humor.Experience in creating and identifying shareable content such as memes and videosExperience in pitching, creating, and executing effective paid social campaigns and RFPs as well as understanding necessary legal requirements behind such paid campaigns.Must be extremely creative, with the expectation of creating and producing thousands of pieces of content per year.Understanding of social media analytics; what they mean and what actions should be taken in light of them.Must be a team player, working with Editorial, Marketing, Brand Strategy, and Ad Sales on the most frequent basis, as well as managing a team of 5-6 people. If you can juggle (literally if you can juggle) that also helps.An accessible sense of humor that jives with theCHIVE brand and audience. (We avoid over-the-top edginess or political content like the plagueShould be frequently trying new things and experimenting with new processes to further increase and facilitate KPIs.A good-natured spirit and solid attitude :)Must be a team player
Requirements:
3-4 Years managing social media distribution and content creation for a media company or brand.Strong attention to detail, organized and good management skillsIntermediate experience in Adobe programs, including but not limited to: Premiere, Photoshop, and Media EncoderExperience with Google Analytics. And math. And numbers.Must be self-motivated and task orientedAbility to work well with different personalities and within a team settingMust hold a Bachelor’s Degree
