Job Summary:

The UX/UI Product designer will be an integral part of our Product Design team, focusing on delivering intuitive and engaging designs for our Application Framework across all relevant platforms. She / he will work closely with the Development team and Product managers to iterate and improve upon our product offerings, with a focus on empathic user experience and beautiful yet functional visual design.

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive portfolio of various works with an emphasis on mobile user experience and visual design. She / he will be a problem solver who thrives in a fast paced environment, enjoys collaboration and takes ownership of the work they are creating.

Responsibilities:

  • Design well thought out, cohesive user experiences across all major platforms
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end design documentation for a product initiative (including flow maps, mid-fidelity wireframes, style guides, prototypes, etc.)
  • Create and maintain design systems for the Application Framework and deliver visually designed screens that are consistent and cohesive
  • Work closely with development and Product leaders to document feature expectations and requirements for acceptance criteria and edge cases
  • Be the voice of design for the product initiative and be able to defend design thinking and advocate for the best design for the user
  • Deliver art assets and style guides to development and support the team during development and QA
  • Work with Product Design leadership to create and maintain product design best practices
  • Work with Product Design leadership to evaluate and adopt new tools or processes that can improve our design offerings
  • Attend and participate in all relevant Product kickoff, daily standup, and planning meetings.
  • Stay up to date on the latest design paradigms and new technologies and provide recommendations on when to introduce them to the latest product initiatives

Qualifications:

  • BFA / MFA in Design and 2+ years professional design experience
  • Previous experience in end-to-end mobile application design
  • Proficient in industry standard software for wireframing, prototyping, and visual design (Creative Suite, Sketch, Sympli, Atomic or similar)
  • Excellent visual, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment, as well as work independently and exercise sound professional judgment
  • Strong internal motivation, natural ambition and an ability to deliver quickly across multiple projects
  • Consistent track record for delivering commitments on time, with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail with an ownership mentality
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously in a creative environment
  • Commitment to responsiveness, high quality work, and collaboration
  • Ability to react to directional changes quickly and positively and to receive and implement constructive feedback
  • Appreciation of balance between creative and business opportunities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mobile industry and new technology trends 

Desirable:

  • Experience with User Research, User Testing or designing in sprints
  • Knowledge of iOS and android design guidelines
  • Candidate must be open to travel as needed
