CIRR, the Council on Integrity in Results Reporting, www.cirr.org, seeks a new Chief Executive Officer to grow the organization and further its mission to provide students and the public with transparent outcomes from post-secondary educational programs. CIRR is a member organization of schools that teach coding and software engineering to adults and other stakeholders such as employers, lenders, marketers and non-profits that participate in this field.

Initially, the CEO position will be part-time--approximately 25 hours per week--at an annual salary of $35,000.  A successful CEO may be able to transform this into a full-time position through growing member recruitment and additional grant fundraising to scale CIRR.

CIRR member schools commit to semi-annual reports in a standard format that present the outcomes for 100% of their students (see examples here). These simple reports allow prospective students and other stakeholders to compare outcomes across schools and programs. CIRR was founded in 2016 and became a member-financed non-profit in 2017. Its membership includes both schools and other educational stakeholders. CIRR is the first and largest group of post-secondary schools to commit to and deliver outcomes reporting on 100% of students in a common, clear format.

The CIRR CEO leads the organization. Member committees and the Board of Directors are responsible for the core of the organization’s work, such as updating the standards and considering member non-compliance. The CEO will also be a member of the Board.

Key responsibilities of the CEO include:

  • Recruit and onboard new CIRR members
  • Evangelize the CIRR mission and achievements with press, regulatory authorities and stakeholders
  • Lead Board and committee meetings, and develop a pipeline of future Board members
  • Communicate CIRR initiatives, achievements and issues to the membership
  • Maintain member materials, such as standards documents
  • Maintain appropriate internal controls such as budgets and financial reports
  • Hire and/or retain additional support, as appropriate

A successful CIRR CEO will leverage these attributes and skills:

  • Familiarity with code schools/bootcamps and/or the technology hiring landscape
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to articulate CIRR’s mission and value to diverse constituents including prospective members, press, stakeholders and government/regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate will be a compelling writer and persuasive speaker
  • Great followthrough in bringing diverse members and prospective members into CIRR and maintaining engagement
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent judgement in making business decisions within a modest member-funded budget

The CIRR search committee expects successful candidates to have many, but not necessarily all of these prior achievements:

  • Experience in outbound sales or business development roles
  • Experience in marketing, public relations or public affairs
  • General management or executive leadership of an entrepreneurial organization, whether for-profit or non-profit

CIRR works remotely. The CEO may reside anywhere in the US, and must have US work authorization.
