Content Marketer

OutboundEngine, the leading done-for-you marketing automation service, is seeking a Content Marketer to develop content that engages our audience of business owners, builds our brand and generates qualified leads for our sales team. We’ve raised $33.8M in funding, have over 10,000 customers on our platform and need a creative thinker who can create content that helps us get our next 10,000 customers.

Founded in 2012, OutboundEngine automates email and social media marketing for businesses of all sizes by combining a simple, easy-to-use marketing automation platform with professionally written and beautifully designed content. Our clients spend less time on marketing and more time serving their customers, and their customers get valuable content that they’re excited to engage with.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the entire content marketing strategy for a fast-growing SaaS company, delivering content that supports all parts of the sales/marketing funnel
  • Create content including, but not limited to, blog posts, ebooks, case studies and interactive experiences
  • Research and pitch new types of content to the team, always keeping us on the bleeding edge of content marketing practices
  • Collaborate with the entire marketing team to create an editorial calendar, then deliver on that calendar
  • Optimize web-based content for SEO and own a traffic goal
  • Drive additional traffic via a social media strategy that you design and implement
  • Strategically place CTAs throughout your work, optimize for conversion and own a lead gen/conversion rate goal
  • Collaborate with channel owners (email, cpc, events) to further distribute your content and develop content that supports their channels and traffic goals
  • Participate in trainings with our high-energy sales team to share your work and help them learn how to use it to close deals

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism or marketing
  • 2+ years of B2B content marketing experience
  • Excellent research, writing and editing skills, with a professional portfolio to back it up
  • Track record of learning new audiences and delivering content that engages them
  • Advanced Google Analytics skills and history of using web analytics to optimize publishing strategy and conversion funnels
  • Working knowledge of core SEO concepts
  • Experience managing content in a Wordpress environment, ability to edit basic HTML/CSS
  • Basic design/layout skills preferred, experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Strong communications skills and ability to work cross-functionally with peers inside and outside of your team
