Do you make the data trains run on time? Come put your skills to use at one of the most advanced data operations in SaaS, where we are creating the Intelligent Communications Platform for earned media. Lead the team responsible for the quality and completeness of all data in the production environment. Maintain master data and metadata in support of data products. Optimize operations of the data value chain from data sourcing, to gathering, ingestion, enrichment and indexing.

Essential Function of the Director, Data Ops

  • Data sourcing - Identify new sources of data, build data partnerships, maintain schedules of data updates and monitor/manage backlogs of data needs/requests.
  • Data production - Work with our highly talented team of developers as you build requirements for technical tools. Work with your own team to create documentation and processes for implementing data from 3rd party vendors. Establish and maintain processes for adding master data and define requirements for data ingestion.
  • Data quality - Establish metrics to define quality, and measure continuously. Instrument a system to alert on emerging quality issues, and maintain a quality process for every data type. Design and implement quality processes.

Skill Requirements:

  • 3+ years of people management experience, with a proven track record of developing leaders
  • Experience managing outsourced teams
  • Working knowledge of statistics and analytical evaluation of data
  • Proficiency in working with relational databases and query authoring (SQL)
  • Elasticsearch experience
  • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Experience documenting and standardizing workflow processes
  • Ability to design and implement operational metrics
  • Experience managing vendors to deliver high quality work
  • Strong strategic business acumen and understanding of organization strategy and ability to delivery on that strategy
  • Experience successfully partnering with product and engineering teams to meaningfully impact product development
  • Self-driven to learn new technology and build technical skill sets
  • Ability to convey complex concepts to business stakeholders in terms relevant to the business
  • Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills required
