Invitae is seeking an operations analyst with a diverse background to join our  dedicated and ever curious cross-functional team. We build systems that combine massive genomic data, community literature, and rigorously curated results in order to inform our customers. And as data scales in size and complexity, so too our systems.  

We are looking for a highly motivated early career data scientist or analyst to join Invitae Operations. In this role you will be responsible for analyzing lab process metrics and developing streamlined quality control processes. This work is interdisciplinary and involves collaboration with production lab scientists, R&D scientists, and the clinical quality teams. 

What you’ll do:

  • Enable smarter business processes and implement analytics for meaningful insights
  • Perform data and error analysis to monitor lab stability
  • Clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy

What you bring:

  • Knowledge of NGS lab process and high throughput sequencing technologies
  • Strong problem solving skills with emphasis on lab processes and assay development
  • Knowledge of basic data science work using statistics, data visualization, and Python 
  • Knowledge of querying databases: SQL, datalog, etc. 
  • Eagerness in taking ownership of day-to-day production operations
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
  • Preferred: Experience with LIMS and working in a Lab environment
