Supports business planning, execution and evaluation through the aggregation, analysis and interpretation of customer, transaction, product, and other relevant data. Performs a wide range of research, analysis, development, and interpretation functions to help the company understand and derive meaning from large and complex data sets. Analyzes a variety of data sources such as customer, transaction and product-related data to identify patterns and drivers through machine learning, data mining, and statistical techniques. Partners with key stakeholders to turn insights into business-focused actions and long-term strategies. Works to ensure Whole Food Market’s data science applications incorporate state-of-the-art concepts, practices and methodologies.

Responsibilities:

• Provides Data Science support on a cross-regional and basis and works on projects with potential company-wide impact.
• Assesses suitability of existing data sources to address requests, fill information gaps and provide suitable forward-looking information.
• Performs data mining, statistical research, machine learning and, profiling to provide solutions to business needs and to support long-term strategies.
• Consults with key internal and external stakeholders to determine how best to leverage machine learning, data mining and statistical techniques to support retail and business objectives.
• Researches and evaluates large volumes of data from disparate sources to identify statistical patterns and generate actionable insights for application at the store and regional level.
• Effectively communicates within the data science team.

Education & Experience:

• BA/BS degree and 4-6 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Masters degree preferred.
