Amherst, a large real estate investment company, is looking for a Strategy Associate that will be a cross-functional player working on strategic projects across every business unit. You will play a role in developing market research reports and business case presentations while using data to support and drive strategic business initiatives.
Our ideal candidate has a “roll up your sleeves” attitude and attacks problems thoughtfully and head-on. You are hungry, inquisitive, proactive, energetic and driven. The role will require an analytical mindset (i.e. presenting to C-Level), strategic thinking (i.e. cross-business solutions) and an operations focus (i.e. how do we execute) to drive new initiatives. We’re looking for someone who can wear lots of hats and be the ultimate utility player to see ideas through to fruition.

  • A professional who can identify, assess and solve complex business problems across business lines
  • Your work has a major day to day impact on your area of responsibility
  • You are comfortable digging into the details to draw out big ideas

Responsibilities

  • Consult with business units across the company to identify problems, design solutions, and drive operational changes
  • Develop business model economics including P&L, planning, budgeting, problem definition for new initiatives
  • Assist in developing operating model strategies and blueprints across all functions including Finance, IT, Operations, Sales and Marketing
  • Participate and develop all aspects of the proposal process.
  • Conduct analysis to better understand drivers of business success and key growth levers
  • Develop and monitor critical success metrics, and communicate actionable insights to relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain an understanding of advancements in technology and innovations that directly impact our businesses

 Professional Experience

  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in an analyst, product development and/or strategy role
  • Prior experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital; experience at high-growth companies a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and with a data-driven approach to problem-solving
  • Team player, but also a self-starter and capable of driving business results without significant supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Excel, data modeling and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel as required for projects
