What is the opportunity?

This role will be the first of its kind, and the charter is to amplify the visual design of the content we’re creating for thousands of local businesses across the country. You’ll be embedded within a new team that is experimenting with how we tell our customer’s stories, and you’ll work with thought partners across teams to ensure that our content is on brand, highly engaging, and effective at representing each customer’s voice.

As the Design Coach, you’ll review visual content created by our Community Management team, identify areas for growth, and work with our learning & development team to design solutions to close gaps — from individual coaching to larger-scale workshops. You’ll be a key player in developing digital campaigns and innovating our marketing strategies. Since the Community Management is the voice of our local business customers, and that team uses our proprietary branding and content creation tools to craft content, you’ll also partner with our Product Design teams to help continue the evolution of those tools.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assess the visual design quality of the content we’re creating for our thousands of local business owners across platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and beyond

  • Work with partners on our learning & development team to build a deeper visual design foundation for our team of writers

  • Provide constructive feedback on an individual and team-wide level, through coaching sessions, workshops, and larger training series

  • Foster an environment centered around continual learning and growth around visual design, branding, the creative process, and beyond

  • Partner with thought leaders across teams to continue to push our content strategies forward, from targeted digital campaigns to what you can imagine

Who are you?

  • You’re a creative-minded person with an incredibly strong visual literacy

  • You’re an excellent communicator: you can clearly articulate what’s great, and what’s not, and have experience delivering actionable, constructive feedback

  • You’re a systems thinker: you quickly embrace and align to guidelines, understanding their application across channels for the entire customer lifecycle.

  • You’re a learner: you get excited by the learning processes, and have experience offering instructional support

  • You’re pragmatic: you appreciate the latest design trends but can easily filter out what is and isn’t useful to the task at hand.

  • You’re incredibly detail oriented. Mention bluebird in your cover letter or resume.

  • You’re a utility player: you're willing to help out wherever needed and are a team-player first.

  • You’re self-driven and are able to work autonomously.

Are there perks?

  • Three weeks paid time off, plus holidays

  • 100% paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees, and 50% of premiums paid for dependents

  • The opportunity to earn stock options

  • 401(k) plan

  • Brand new office in the heart of downtown Austin

  • Professional development and experience working at one of the fastest growing startups in the country
