Job Summary:

Spredfast is looking for a passionate and seasoned product design leader to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, the VP of Product Design sets the design vision for our "Smart Social" Platform. This person will manage, mentor and grow our talented team of 14 Product Designers. She/he is passionate about social and understands what it takes to build enterprise software that users will love. She/he is both a strategic and critical thinker with the ability to translate business strategy into world-class user experiences, in collaboration with our Product Management and Engineering leadership.

The ideal candidate is a software designer at heart, who appreciates that designing software is about designing for the optimal user experience, which starts with a strong foundation of understanding customer needs and user behavior. She/he is a good mentor, capable of inspiring, leading and collaborating with others to arrive at best in class solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with our SVP of Product Management and SVP of Engineering to shape, drive and clearly articulate the product vision to our team, informing the strategic direction of the "Smart Social" Platform
• Be an advocate for the end user. Work to identify research opportunities and facilitate user research processes across our Product teams, educating product teams on best practices in the process
• Be an advocate for incredible user experiences within the product organization and the voice for design across the Spredfast organization
• Be a creative coach and collaborator with our 14+ Product Designers. Manage, grow and inspire the team. She/he will be responsible for shaping the design direction and ensuring design consistency across our platform

Personal Qualities:

• Deep understanding of information architecture, gestalt design principles, user research and design systems management
• Must be able to demonstrate mature leadership skills with the ability to have an impact across the organization, raising awareness of the value of design 
• Can demonstrate a bias for taking action in our fast-paced product environment. Values calculated risk taking and encourages progress over fear
• Ability to guide teams in decision making, moving from potential ambiguity, to resolution and alignment

Requirements:

• Bachelors or higher degree in design related field, or equivalent work experience required
• 10+ years of experience designing software experiences
• Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience
• Proven ability to both lead and mentor others to do the best design of their lives
• Experience working with Product, Marketing and Business Teams on product releases
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Expert understanding of user-centered design methods and best practices
• Experience leading and conducting user research (i.e. contextual inquiries; usability testing)
• Ability and desire to clearly communicate your ideas to a wide variety of key stakeholders
• Team player – you consistently demonstrate respect and empathy for others and enjoy collaboration
