The Developer Advocate will be an evangelist for Ping's API-based cloud offerings that allow developers to rapidly embed identity services into their applications. Responsibilities include advocating Ping's products, responding to inquiries, and addressing issues within Ping's developer community. The Developer Advocate will also represent the voice of the developer community within Ping, conveying their needs and priorities to internal product, marketing, sales, and executive teams as appropriate.

The Developer Advocate will become familiar with and evangelize Ping's API-based cloud offerings that allow developers to rapidly embed identity services into their applications. Responsibilities include advocating Ping's products, responding to inquiries, and addressing issues within Ping's developer community. The Developer Advocate will also represent the voice of the developer community within Ping, conveying their needs and priorities to internal product, marketing, sales, and executive teams as appropriate.

As a key stakeholder in the overall success of Ping's Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) solutions, they will engage, speak and evangelize Ping's offerings at third-party developer events, webinars, blogs, and other mediums. This role will combine your technical background, passion for enabling developers, communication skills to manage and collaborate with a developer community, and gained insights to influence the direction of Ping's IDaaS solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and encourage participation in Ping's developer community, including attending and speaking at developer events.
  • Deliver presentations, webinars, blogs and other thought leadership content to advocate Ping's developer solutions.
  • Engage with developers and represent the voice of Ping Identity in the community.
  • Respond to inquiries from developers and enlist product management or support's help as needed.
  • Work with product teams to ensure that community issues and needs are prioritized in the product roadmap.
  • Work with product marketing to ensure Ping's messaging aligns with developer needs.
  • Identify gaps in documentation that could resolve frequently asked questions.
  • Keep a pulse on competitor communities, products and documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Developer experience with Java, Javascript, Postman, and leveraging APIs to get third-party services into applications.
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise software preferred.
  • Experience with OIDC and OAuth2 preferred.
  • Highly motivated, self-learner, and technically inquisitive.
  • Proven work experience as the manager/moderator of an active community.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to accommodate up to 25% travel.
