Front-End React Developer

Rocket Dollar is hiring a Front-End React Developer to support product development for our web-based investment management platform. The right candidate will have demonstrated competency in programming with the React js library, as well as strong scripting ability with python or another scripting language and proficient with SQL.  The position is based in downtown Austin, TX.  Benefits offered include stock options, healthcare, medical, dental, vision, and parking.

Front-end Engineer Responsibilities:

• Take the lead in creating and committing high quality code with strong business impact using the React library.
• Adhere to change control and deployment policies of Rocket Dollar.
• Make architectural decisions as necessary to support product development.
• Make technical decisions that put primary emphasis on security and reliability.

Have to haves:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• 5 years experience of coding using a major javascript framework or library such as React, Node.js or Angular.
• 3 years experience coding using the React library.
• 3 years experience developing software in a small team environment using the agile methodology.
• Strong Linux command line proficiency.
• Advanced organizational skills.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Nice to haves:

• Experience in financial services.
• Experience with SQL
• Specific recent experience with Python
