The Army has come to Austin!  The Army Futures Command headquarters has settled in the center of innovation in Austin TX and GXM Consulting is part of it.  The Command’s mission is to lead continuous transformation of Army modernization in order to provide future warfighters with the concepts, capabilities and organizational structures they need to dominate a future battlefield.  GXM is looking for a talented, motivated and dedicated Front-end Web Developer to help accomplish that mission.  

The candidate must be a US Citizen and possess technical acuity and experience with front-end development supporting complex data systems. Duties require the individual to work onsite, full-time 5 days a week in Austin, Texas and travel from time to time to support projects and government activities. 

Required Experience: 

  • 5 years of experience as a Front-end Web Developer 

  • Excellent knowledge of browser troubleshooting and debugging practices and techniques (e.g. Debugging issues that only happen in IE but not in Chrome) 

  • Knowledge of some Search Engine Optimization principles 

  • 5 years of experience with markup languages (XML, HTML, JSON) 

  • 5 years of experience with JavaScript, CSS and jQuery 

  • Knowledge of graphics software such as Adobe Suite, Photoshop etc. 

  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success 

  • Demonstrated experience working with UX experts 

  • Experience with writing automated tests 

  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills 

  • Team player 

  • Good time-management skills 

  • Great interpersonal and communication skills 

  • BA in Computer Science or similar relevant field 

  • US Citizenship 

Desired Experience: 

  • Experience with writing automated tests for Web applications (Selenium, Cucumber)  

  • DevOps Experience 

  • Basic knowledge of DoD Senior Service Headquarters Staffs, the Joint Staff or the Office of the Secretary of Defense 

  • Stakeholder engagement with high level government or corporate staff 

  • Current Secret or higher security clearance 

  • Development experience with SharePoint systems
