Hyliion’s goal is to be the market leader in class 8 electrified powertrain solutions including state of the art cloud computing, data analytics and UI/UX customer interface and associated content.

 

This role will focus on assessing and enhancing current production hardware/software to support innovation in UX/UI, developing long range HMI future content roadmaps to maximize customer impact of Hyliion hybrid powertrain, and execute the HMI feature development through agile SW development process. You will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing and debugging backend and frontend software in vehicle and Web and mobile application.

                                                                                                                

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Create and lead a team of software engineers and innovators to develop class leading UX/UI product in coordination with embedded hybrid powertrain control and high-level software team
  • Perform gap analysis on current product (hardware & software) and develop strategy / plan to improve, validate and release to production
  • Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and while envisioning future improvements
  • Develop technology roadmap / strategy to Include:
    • State-of-the-art interactive experiences for users with stunning display visuals
    • Driver gamification to enhance hybrid powertrain unique selling feature
    • Prognostics and diagnostics
    • Data analytics to provide new insight of Hyliion product performance and identify opportunities for enhancement
    • Voice command content
    • Mobile and Web app development
  • Work with vendors to identify and select future display solutions.
  • Turn business, market, and user “requirements” into prioritized executable software engineering deliverables
  • Develop content for and support activities at trade-show events (such as CES and others)
  • Manage external contractors to deliver work packets

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Subject-matter expertise across multiple technologies and verticals, including cloud, applications (iOS, Android, Web) and reference designs for consumer, mobile, automotive, industrial & enterprise products.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects with aggressive timeframes
  • Software technology management:
    • Experienced in Automotive HMI development
    • Familiar with Android AOSP architecture
    • Mobile and Web Applications
    • Middleware, DB and Hosting
    • Algorithms (embedded, server and front end)

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of associated work experience.
  • Managed engineering teams > 5
  • Managed outsourced development (on and offshore).

 

Physical Demands: 

Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • For the most part, ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional equipment as found in a typical office
