We’re currently expanding and seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join our leadership team to help grow and expand our mobile team as well as manage and collaborate on one other major business initiative. Our engineering managers are career development enthusiasts, seeking out opportunities and providing critical insights and feedback that fuel growth for their direct reports. As an Engineering Manager, you will:
● Drive incremental value delivery for your team while defining and maintaining engineering best practices
● Identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve engineering process, employees’ success, and business success. Lead initiatives such as establishing quality metrics and improvements including testing best practices and methodologies (TDD, BDD)
● Provide technical guidance, and grow the expertise of your teams in architecture, performance, scalability, maintainability, and experimentation
● Attract and retain diverse talent by developing programs that support career development and recruiting strategies
● Create an environment that empowers and energizes team members, with a focus on accountability, adaptability, and collaboration
● Collaborate with engineering, product leadership, and key stakeholders such as sales and customer success to identify and achieve strategic business outcomes
● Be a strong advocate and change agent for the Agile/Scrum process
Required qualifications:
● 3+ years experience as a manager or team lead for cloud based SaaS development team
● 5+ years experience in a hands-on technical role in a software development organization
● In-depth knowledge of engineering operations and hands-on experience in improving operational efficiency and developing a vision for long term success of engineering teams
● Proficient with the entire SDLC, including successful product launches, as well as subsequent iterations of existing products, by utilizing effective software development practices including agile, continuous improvement and continuous delivery
● Demonstrated track record of successfully hiring, managing, coaching and retaining engineers
● Experience dealing with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
● Passionate advocate of Agile best practices and tools
Preferred qualifications:
● Experience leading teams using RESTful and event streaming applications (Kafka, Kinesis)
● Experience leading mobile engineers delivering enterprise mobile solutions
● Experience leading teams during the evolution of the Engineering function from start-up to scale
● Experience evaluating and implementing mobile test automation frameworks
● Familiarity with Lean methodology and principles
