As our Principal Security Engineer, you will focus on the security of all Schoology software.
You will be a subject matter expert on information security. You will bring strong security expertise to Schoology and you will stay on top of the latest trends, advances, and events in security. You will be an expert on applicable privacy and security regulations.
You will ensure Schoology has processes and best practices in place to deliver secure software. You will help educate other engineers on security best practices and trends and you will advocate for security throughout the software development lifecycle. You will evaluate and integrate new security applications and tools into our development process.
You will review and establish new architecture patterns that make Schoology software more secure. As new technology is incorporated into the Schoology architecture, you will ensure security is taken into account.
You will collaborate with development teams to prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities throughout the application development lifecycle.What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for you, if you’re an experienced information security engineer. More specifically, we are looking for:
- Someone with detailed knowledge of security risks and how they are mitigated. You know the OWASP Top 10 Web Application Security Risks by heart, how to mitigate them, and have spent time doing this.
- You understand systems architecture and how servers and networks are secured. You have experience securing cloud native applications.
- You have built server side software in PHP or Node.js, and have spent numerous time remediating security vulnerabilities. You have established processes and best practices within an organization, utilizing appropriate tools to reduce the likelihood of these regressions.
- You stay on top of the latest security trends and data breaches. You understand why they happened, and what should have been done to prevent them.
