Position Summary:

OneView is looking for an experienced tester to join a client-facing scrum team. The QA Engineer is part of the scrum team responsible for performing both manual and exploratory testing, as well as assisting and collaborating with SDETs for the OneView Platform in alignment with DevOps principles. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be involved throughout the development lifecycle as an active scrum team member with particular responsibility for the quality assurance of software and deployments with emphasis on the creation of test cases and the facilitation of test automation. In this role, you will be involved in the creation of business requirements, managing test cases, and defining test scenarios to ensure developers understand the business requirements so that they may be effectively tested. You will be working closely with the team as they develop code to ensure requirements are being met and to the correct quality, and you will execute manual tests and validate automated tests to ensure the software created meets our standards prior to delivery. You will be responsible for defining and driving innovative automated testing strategies and methodologies into our overall development processes to support and enhance the current quality assurance processes.

Location:

This role would be part of the OneView Operations team, which is based in Austin, Texas. The team has an office in the east Austin neighborhood and supports a flexible / hybrid work model; generally team members are in the office 2-3 days a week, but we support remote work when / as needed, including for longer periods of time to fit life requirements, travel, etc. New team members will be expected to relocate to Austin in a reasonable amount of time after starting in this role, but we can support remote work exclusively for some time (generally up to 3 months) until you are able to relocate to Austin at a time that is convenient for you

Responsibilities:

• Work as part of a cross-functional, passionate scrum team to ensure quality is driven into the heart of the development process from requirements definition to delivery.
• Collaborate in the development of test frameworks and continuous testing systems.
• Implement best practices, standards and processes, troubleshoot test issues, record test results, track and prioritize defects, participate in product readiness and release decisions.
• Help define and implement innovative testing strategies and toolsets into our development process to support continuous testing. Work to increase the level of test automation.
• Contribute towards the predictable delivery of quality releases.
• Work to define and prioritize scenarios to support ongoing performance testing.
• Attend and be a productive member of sprint standups, retrospectives, planning, and review meetings.
• Participate in technical governance and help negotiate overall product quality standards with the scrum teams and client teams. 
• Use appropriate measures and KPIs to validate and report on software quality.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Information Technology or related field.
• Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically automated QA processes in agile development environments.
• Experience building test infrastructures and working within continuous delivery / continuous release pipeline processes.
• Experience working with NoSQL databases like CouchDB or MongoDB.
• Be a creative thinker who can quickly identify and test for functional ‘edge cases’ outside of expected functionality/workflow.
• Have the drive to become an expert in:
  • Unit testing
  • UX Testing
  • UI Testing
  • Integration testing of APIs
  • Performance and scalability testing
• Experience testing enterprise applications deployed to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Applicable knowledge of key development technologies such as GitHub, AWS, Cloudant, and FireBase, as well as traditional team tools such as Confluence, Asana, and G-Suite.
• Work closely with the software engineering team, product management, and operations team as well as business users and Senior Management as required.
• Proficient with bug tracking and test management toolsets to support development processes.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience working as a member of a scrum team.
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
