Engineering Manager (Ecommerce)
ABOUT THIS POSITION
As our Senior Engineering Manager of Ecommerce, you will help your team thrive in a collaborative environment focused on delivering highly performant product landing pages and high-value payment checkout flows. You will lead an established but growing team of Angular2+, NodeJS, and PHP engineers who oversee our ecommerce monorepo and work with them to deliver a universally scaling ecomm platform. Through a mixture of managing, architecting, and developing, you will encourage your team to release high quality and timely results in order to ensure that our products perform in the marketplace and consistently deliver convenience and delight.

The Ecommerce Engineering team comes from a variety of backgrounds, thrives on collaboration and respect, and pushes each other daily to do their best. WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Manage a team of highly skilled software developers in a SCRUM framework focusing on ecommerce
- Act as a liaison between Marketing, Product Management, QA, and the rest of the Engineering organization to address consumer needs on the site.
- Help organize and keep tasks organized between all Engineering teams
- Develop, implement, and maintain engineering practices including methodologies, measurements and reporting
- Create an environment of teamwork, open communication, ownership, and accountability managing multiple engineering projects
- Set team level and individual team member goals, align those to the corporate goals and pillars, and ensure that they are executed to completion on time and with high quality
- Coach and mentor the Engineering Team members to help them grow in their careers and achieve their maximum potential as people
- Provide routine reporting to relevant stakeholders on the performance and costs of the Engineering Team
- Define, track, and act against team level health metrics and roll those up to the corporate scorecard to ensure visibility and ongoing improvement
- Make key technical decisions on software system architecture
- Be proficient and capable of supporting the team in a hands-on capacity developing code and deploying our products
- Provide guidance to the Engineering Team on key platform decisions, including procurement of third party solutions
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- 5+ years experience as a Web Engineer
- 4+ years of experience managing team in an Agile/SCRUM framework
- 1+ years managing a team or large-scale projects
- High level expertise in PHP, Javascript, Node.JS, and JS frameworks
- High level expertise in database concepts for PostgreSQL, Mongo, etc.
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- An innate desire to help and progress the careers of those around them
- A strong drive for continued education in technological and management concepts

- Experience with marketing technologies for web and mobile, including analytics systems such as Google Analytics, Mailchimp, SegmentJs, Optimizely, Iterable, etc.
