Role Summary:

Datical is the market leader in providing best-in-class enterprise software that allows companies to safely and successfully automate deployment of database changes. Datical’s mission is to maintain market leadership in the DevOps space through innovation and consistent delivery of high quality, valuable products.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of a “dream team” of experienced developers working diligently on existing and future products that align with Datical’s mission.

What you’ll be doing: 

• Work in an agile team to deliver business valuable software in two-week sprints
• Contribute in technical design reviews
• Peer-program with both junior and senior software engineers
• Collaborate to estimate story sizes for sprint planning
• Build JUnit and Cucumber tests per Datical’s test-driven development (TDD) approach to software engineering
• Work with QA team to address issues found during automated and manual testing
• Collaborate with team members on code reviews, internal infrastructure, and process enhancements
• Participate in end-of-sprint retrospectives
• Present completed software at end-of-sprint demos

Technical must-haves: 

• 5+ years of Java development experience
• Full-stack experience, including web, API, and backend
• Comfortable working in both Windows and Linux environments
• Experience with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server. Postgres, and DB2
• Experience with automated testing (JUnit & Cucumber)
• Experience using Git and Maven
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results, prioritize activities, and to manage time effectively
• Experience programming in other core languages (C#, C++, Python) is a plus
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
