This team is integral to the RetailMeNot business, so we rely on engineers who can deliver results by understanding the consumer, the business, and the technology needed to serve up a high-traffic website. The site was recently re-launched on a modernized web UI stack using React, GraphQL, Node, Express, and Kubernetes, so we are looking for technical leaders to join the team and build on this success to drive the next generation of growth in the core business.

As a UI engineer on the team your daily activities will include mentorship, code reviews, design and collaboration with product managers, and delivery of key pieces of functionality. As new technologies emerge in the rapidly evolving web UI landscape we need your insightful advocacy to keep abreast of changes and drive evolution of the platform. Your team will include fellow UI engineers, backend specialists, full stack coders, and test engineers all working closely together.

Who You Are

• You have a Bachelor's degree in computer science or closely related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• You have an ownership mentality and track record of successful high-quality results. You identify any ambiguous requirements and provide clarity when needed.
• You're well versed in techniques required to build fast, polished, responsive, consumer-facing user experiences on mobile and desktop platforms.
• You’re proficient with modern web technologies such as React and GraphQL.
• You bring a proven understanding and application of computer science fundamentals. You have a solid understanding of the concerns of full stack web development, including scalability, back end architectures, and cloud infrastructure.
• You have experience with common software engineering tools such as Git, JIRA, TeamCity, Confluence or similar.
• You have 5+ years of application development experience.

What You'll Do

• You will lead technical design and delivery of complex UI features on retailmenot.com as the team rapidly adds new and faster ways for consumers to save money when they shop.
• You will contribute to the overall system design, architecture, security, scalability, reliability, and performance of applications.
• You’ll coach and mentor junior engineers on software engineering skills, process, and productivity growth.
• You'll stay ahead of new technologies with an eye to evaluating and potentially incorporating them into your team's architecture.
