UpEquity, a YCombinator company, is seeking a SRE for our AWS environment. 

This is a green field design opportunity,  and the first seat on our SRE team. We are entirely cloud hosted. We’re looking for an engineer who can help us remain completely IAC.  

UpEquity has tripled revenue in the last 6 months, and we expect that growth to continue. This position is not open to permanent remote work and is based in our SoCo Austin headquarters.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and monitor the infrastructure required to operate and secure our AWS environments 
• Embed on a team that is supporting production applications
• Monitor and report on uptime and on the Accelerate metrics
• You will be on call as a point of escalation from development teams; developers are our first point of contact for production monitoring
• Automate the provisioning of all systems
• Monitor utilization and cost of our infrastructure
• Plan and construct the infrastructure for BCP and HA infrastructure
• You will sleep through the night

What you’ve got:

• 5+ years in engineering
• An understanding of networking and system administration
• Deep experience with the AWS platform and modern devops tooling 
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Strong scripting skills, especially with Terraform
• Willingness to tolerate ambiguity, and a drive to deliver value quickly
• An understanding of current infosec concepts and concerns, including threat modelling and detection
