Sommelier and Data Scientist created preference algorithms, resulting in data driven digital and direct marketing. Our near-term mission is to make discovering tea fun, personalized, and affordable. Sips by recently launched its subscription + eCom platform that leverages preference algorithms to identify and de-mystify a consumer's ability to sample products they'll love, from 100+ brands around the world.

We're seeking a creative and experienced full stack engineer to build an efficient, scalable web-based application. You’ll advocate for the technical team and technology base, and be a part of shaping and building a product from the ground-up.

 

Responsibilities:

Own architecture and development of our product, and manage its infrastructure
.

  • Full stack, cross-platform development of our web-based application.

  • Manage application infrastructure, both on-prem and off-prem

  • Influence and help define product strategy.

Requirements:

  • Highly technical, full stack, hands-on coder who understands and can drive the big picture
  • Able to drive engineering initiatives, and potentially lead the team.

  • Develop, test, deploy, maintain, support, and enhance the product.
  • Solid communication skills including experience speaking to a technical and business audience.
  • Deep understanding of web technologies (Django, Python, React Javascript, HTML, CSS, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of  infrastructure (Linux, Nginx, supervisor, Beanstalk, etc.)

Preferred:

  • 6+ years of programming experience
  • 6+ years of experience with Python, Javascript, MySQL (or similar), Django, React, etc.
  • 2+ years leading / driving a team, development initiatives and product strategy

  • Experience hosting applications on-prem and on AWS
  • Solid understanding of Linux, Vagrant, Docker

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related engineering degree
