The rundown:

We are looking for a full stack engineer that is all about getting things done. If you like to pick up tickets, knock them out, get them reviewed and deployed, and jumping into the next ticket, you’re the type of engineer we’re looking for. We have a product with well-defined features that need exceptional engineers to implement them with creativity and determination.

You will:

• Build data-driven APIs: Our merchants depend on the right data at the right time. You’ll partner with our front end engineers and designers to build quality dashboards that reveal deep insights from customer data.
• Improve our merchant’s conversions: Our merchants depend on us for integrations and features to sell their products. You’ll directly implement customer’s needs through software, using both custom and third-party technology solutions, from checkout to shipping to product listings.
• Solve with creativity and autonomy: We don’t just want the simplest solution. We want great solutions that exhibit creativity, address customer needs, and allow you to flex your programming muscles.
• Move fast: We like to go! Failure is not getting something wrong; it’s taking so long to get something right that we miss an opportunity. If you like ownership and aren’t afraid to try things, adjust, improve, take responsibility, and try again, you’ll love our fast-paced engineering culture.

We are looking for someone with:

• 3+ years building applications with front-ends, APIs, and data stores
• 2+ years using React, Vue, or another modern JavaScript framework
• 2+ years developing APIs in REST and/or GraphQL, including design of endpoints and business logic implementation
• E-Commerce or SaaS experience a major plus!
• A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or other Engineering discipline

Volusion’s Technology Stack:

• JavaScript-based front-ends, especially Angular, React, and Node.js
• React (including React hooks), React with Redux, Relay, and server-side and client-side rendering
• Public-facing REST APIs
• Google Cloud Platform including Kubernetes, Firebase, and managed database services
• SQL and no-SQL Databases; specific experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB is a plus
• Search and caching using Elasticsearch, RediSearch, Algolia, and Redis
