Essential Responsibilities: 
Resideo is looking for a creative Senior Advanced Firmware Engineer to join the Provisioning Excellence Team based in Austin, TX.  This team is responsible for ensuring our customers have a world class setup experience with Resideo security and comfort products.  You will partner with world class engineers and leaders to design and develop embedded firmware for home automation and security devices. You will generate innovative solutions in work situations; trying different and novel ways to deal with problems and opportunities. You will identify and propose technical improvements using your software engineering knowledge and principals.

JOB DUTIES: 

• Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed design
• Design and develop embedded software development with IoT, WiFi, BLE, Z-Wave, ZigBee, MQTT
• Collaborate with global teams, communicate the implemented software and help fix defects in the developed software
• Create unit test cases for the software developed
• Work with JIRA, GIT and Confluence

YOU MUST HAVE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of experience developing, testing and troubleshooting embedded systems in Linux environment
• 5+ years of experience writing code in C, C++ on Linux, and using one or more scripting languages like Python
• 3+ years of experience with the development and implementation of automated test strategies
• Experience developing Bluetooth / BLE applications

WE VALUE:

• Experience with embedded Linux environments such as Raspberry PI
• Experience with embedded RTOS
• Understanding of Linux Kernel, Linux file system and TCP/IP networking
• Build systems experience (Yocto) preferred
• Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-pace R&D environment supporting multiple concurrent projects
• Exposure to best software practices including unit and integration testing, and continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
• Excellent teamwork, organization and communication skills
