RetailMeNot is hiring for a Vice President of Engineering in Austin to join their engineering leadership team. This role reports into the CTO and will lead a large talented team to launch multiple new savings products across new categories while simultaneously applying data insights to allow our customers to discover the right deal at the right time and save with just one click. We are looking for a creative, technical and hands-on engineering executive that sets a high bar for delivery and operational excellence. This is a strategic role in the company and the right individual will deal well with ambiguity, operate autonomously, and move fast to deliver results.

You will need to balance technical leadership with strong business judgement to make the right decisions about technology choices and to innovate rapidly. Our teams are known for delivering quality and enjoy making an impact measured in weeks rather than years. You'll also work directly with senior business leaders and the executive team to set and achieve aggressive goals.

Who You Are

• You enjoy building robust multi-tiered systems to deliver compelling user experiences
• You are adept at solving big problems at scale
• You are a data junkie and constantly looking for ways to glean insights from data and apply them to business opportunities
• You focus on performance, quality and scale as core features
• You recruit, mentor and grow engineers and managers at all levels
• You have experience building multiple successful customer facing web applications, both frontend and backend
• You possess strong computer science fundamentals
• You have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent STEM field
• You have 10+ years of software development experience with 6+ years of engineering management experience

• You will lead multiple teams to engineer, scale, and optimize large scale distributed systems.
• You will collaborate with technical and product teams to build new solutions for our customers.
• You will build a world-class machine learning platform and apply it to drive revenue and reduce costs across our internal tools, websites, and mobile apps while delighting customers
• You will drive operational excellence on your teams and across the engineering organization.
