As we continue to grow, we are looking for a VP of Engineering and Data Science.  This Technical Leadership position provides the leadership, management, and strategic vision necessary to ensure that Novi is building a reliable, scalable, secure, and high performing technology stack.

The position will develop and manage the Software Engineering and Data Science functions reporting directly to the CEO.  This position will represent technology and software engineering functions as a member of the Novi executive leadership team.

You will hire, mentor, manage, and drive Novi's product development on behalf of our customers. You will have a daily opportunity to help shape the future of our product and culture.

Responsibilities:

• Participate and contribute to the development, execution, and achievement of the company’s overall strategy.
• Architect, implement, deploy, and manage at scale all of Novi’s machine learning product capabilities.
• Recruit, manage, lead, and scale the product development/data science organization.
• Continually develop, assess, and upgrade processes for delivering high quality software on schedule.
• Day-to-day leadership and management to the Engineering and Product Management organizations. This includes weekly 1:1 meetings with all direct reports, weekly / monthly all hands engineering meetings, and mentoring day-to-day to develop the next generation of technical leaders at Novi.

Required Skills:

• Proven leadership skills.
• BA/BS degree is required.  An advanced degree in Computer Science and/or Mathematics is a plus.
• 8+ years of experience managing software development teams and processes.
• Experience building, growing, retaining, and inspiring a highly capable team of software engineers and data scientists.
• Experience building large-scale technology and high-performing applications that are reliable, scalable, and secure.
• Willingness to collaborate and communicate with others to solve problems and to add customer value.
• Inquisitive mind with superior intellectual and quantitative analysis capabilities, combined with solid business and financial acumen.
• Creativity, adaptability, tenacity, a sense of urgency, and a hands-on orientation.
