JOB TITLE: SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

You are a tech-savvy accountant in the early to mid stage of your career with 3 to 7 years of relevant accounting experience, passionate about technology and innovation and looking for a cutting-edge place to learn, thrive and grow. You possess the entrepreneurial drive & spirit to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Your problem-solving, proactive decision-making, and project management skills are top notch. Your accounting knowledge and administrative skills are some of your strengths as well as your ability to handle multiple customers’ needs concurrently and provide a delightful experience. 

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Accountant your day to day responsibilities will vary significantly month over month and will include but not limited to the following:

• Being a key player in rolling out new ScaleFactor software, excited to be involved in the implementation and early stages of testing the new products, embracing all of the challenges and changes this brings
• Performing accounting and/or digital bookkeeping for multiple customers including the management of accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, journal entries, sales tax, and financial statement preparation
• Producing accurate financial statements for a reporting period, recording business transactions throughout the accounting period, adding any required adjusting entries and closing the books for that period
• Assessing and improving customer processes to increase efficiencies and align them to the “ScaleFactor Way” of performing core accounting functions
• Some interaction with customers - responding to accounting inquiries, problem solving, working on KPIs and financial analysis

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, other degrees considered with commensurate work experience
• 3 to 7 years experience as a staff accountant, controller, entry level or intermediate level accountant or similar role
• Experience with cloud accounting tools including, but not limited to Xero, QBO, Gusto, Bill.com, and Abacus
• Solid understanding of accounting life-cycle and all that it entails for startups and growing businesses
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with customer-facing and consultative work experience

Bonus Points:

• Master’s degree or CPA a plus
• Previous experience with customer-facing roles
• Experience with managing multiple accounts simultaneously
• Tech start-up work experience
