Senior Accountant
Chive Media Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to work within our various business types including, eCommerce and Digital Media. We’re small enough to be nimble and fun, but big enough to be a great place to work.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Controller and working with a small team of accounting professionals, the Senior Accountant will assist with the accurate and timely execution of daily accounting functions and closing processes, with a focus on identifying operational inefficiencies and working with cross-functional teams to build solutions. Responsible for monitoring a high volume of transactions within various systems relating to inventory and cost management and overseeing projects involving multiple systems, data integrity, general ledger reporting, and optimization, we need an individual with the ability to work independently who also has a passion for teamwork and collaboration. No function is too big or too small.
ABOUT YOU
You have experience using technology to solve problems and are comfortable working with big data sets. Very proficient in Excel. You’re comfortable in a high-volume environment with emphasis on identifying inefficiencies and building solutions. You have a strong sense of urgency, initiative, and a competitive drive to get things done. Strong problem-solving skills, ability to develop, organize, and complete projects, passion for continuous process improvements. You can juggle multiple priorities and have a willingness to learn.
*Must live in Austin, TX or the surrounding area.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Monitor and reconcile transactions between various systems and entities to ensure proper recording of revenue and costs
- Manage invoicing, AR, and updating deferred revenue schedules
- Key member for month-end close, including balance sheet and G/L reconciliation, account analysis, and preparation of schedules
- Implement, manage, and maintain ongoing accounting operations
- Work with and support various cross-functional teams (e.g. Sales, Operations, HR, etc )
- Assist with AP as needed
- Record capital assets and amortization/depreciation entries
- Perform ad hoc analyses and projects
- Assist in various audits (financial, banking, sales & use)
- Manage all Taxes (sales & use, state, local, and Federal audits). Regularly file & pay state taxes
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3-5 years of Accounting experience
- Experience with eCommerce and inventory management
- Strong technical skills including experience in NetSuite
- High proficiency in Excel (must be able to execute pivot tables / v-lookups / finance formulas).
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and data analysis skills
- Willingness to work in a fast-changing environment
