About your role

Juniper Square has a strong, values-driven culture created by its experienced founding team who understand the importance of hiring, supporting, and motivating highly-talented people. We’re looking for an exceptional candidate to play an integral role in our accounting organization and provide support across the company. You’ll work with our Senior Director, Strategic Finance to develop the infrastructure needed to build a world class accounting organization. In addition, you should possess strong interpersonal skills, empathy for others, and thrive at building solid relationships based on trust.

What you’ll do

  • Manage all Accounting Operations, including revenue recognition, expenses, cash, A/R and billing, prepaids/fixed assets, A/P, accruals/credit cards, equity, and payroll
  • Responsible for the month end reconciliations of Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and associated reporting packages
  • Financial statement analysis – comparison of actual results to prior period
  • Manage a 1st year audit and 606 compliance
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Manage current ERP systems (quickbooks/SaaSOptics) and conversion to NetSuite 
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and mitigate risk
  • Implement new processes to automate accounting
  • Partner with sales operations to review commission calculations
  • Prepare and manage all regulatory reporting and research technical accounting issues to ensure compliance
  • As the company grows, hire and manage a team of accounting professionals as the company evolves
  • Additional accounting responsibilities as needed in a start-up environment

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting operations within the SaaS industry
  • Proven experience as an Accounting Manager at a start-up or privately held company 
  • Significant experience with accounting ERP systems (quickbooks/NetSuite)
  • Experience with other systems, including Bill.com, Expensify, SFDC, & SaaSOptics
  • Practical knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience managing audits and 606 compliance
  • Experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Propensity to automate processes for efficiency and data integrity
  • Ability to manage a team as the company grows
  • Advanced degree in Accounting or related discipline
  • CPA highly preferred
  • Previous experience in audit at Big 4 accounting firm is a plus
