The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist supervises and coordinates Accounts Payable activities and provides general support to the Controller. This individual will be responsible for the end-to-end Accounts Payable functions as well as participate on several project teams within the company. The position requires a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting processes and internal controls. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage Accounts Payable cycle: processing invoices, acquiring approvals, and making payments in a timely fashion
• Review/approve Expense Reports, ensuring compliance with company policies
• Maintain strong relationships with all external vendors and independent contractors
• Receive W-9s and all other documentation needed to add vendors to A/P system
• Handle vendor-related inquiries regarding payments and invoices
• Assist with month-end close procedures and perform account reconciliations
• Respond to requests for financial/accounting information from all business functions
• Assist with year-end financials and other audits
• Prepare 1099s and other tax filings as needed
• Assist with accounting software improvements and implementations
• Organize and maintain accounting files and records

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Minimum 2 years accounting experience
• Basic knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills
• Superior organization skills
• Proficient in MS Excel
• Ability to multi-task and manage time well
• Team player and ability to collaborate with other departments
• Detailed oriented
• Self-starter with ability to work independently
• Ability to adapt in an environment where change is a constant
• Prior experience with NetSuite, Concur, and Bill.com a plus
