Summer Intern - UX Designer
We are seeking a UX Design Intern to join the Q2 Online Banking Product Team. In this internship you will gain experience working within a Design team and will participate in daily scrums, have weekly 1:1s with hiring manager, shadow one or more designers, and create your own design project based on roadmap features, from initial user research to ideation and wireframing to validation and development . Past design interns have been paired with a software development intern to experience the full software lifecycle process.
The objective of the Online Banking Design Intern Project is to gain industry experience working in an agile product team, learning from a team of world class designers; adding to your portfolio of design work with one or two key projects that are actual releases and not busy work.
The Q2 Summer Internship Program is 12-weeks long and all positions are paid hourly with an average work week of 40 hours. In addition to your daily work, you will be given the opportunity for weekly classroom trainings with Sr. Leadership, off-site activities with other Q2 interns and the opportunity to present to the Executive Leadership team at the end of the program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Be an active member of a scrum team and participate in daily standups, shadowing the team designer.
· Observe scheduled usability tests in the XRC, working toward testing your own design.
· Participate in Design Studio critiques and collaborations
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
· Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Master’s program in User Experience Design: Human Factors Engineering, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Applied Psychology, Interaction Design, or related fields with practical courses in product design, especially digital/software.
· Ability to research independently
· Curious mind willing to jump in to help wherever needed
· Exceptional work ethic, highly efficient and accurate
· Excellent attention to detail
· Ability to operate independently and proactively with minimal up-front instruction and take ownership of work product; driven, diligent, and self-motivated
· Excellent time management and organizational skills
· Excellent communication skills with a customer service focus
· Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with Design tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Axure, or HTML/CSS
