At Bright Health we’re trying to make healthcare simpler, personal and more affordable. To do that, we need an amazing user experience on brighthealthplan.com, our member hub, and our tools for brokers and providers. To do that, Bright needs a good user research intern to support the UX Team as we grow in 2020. We have big plans to reinvent our BHP.com website, build a new member experience, refresh our mobile app experience, and more which requires a lot of interviews, surveys, user testing, and recruiting.

This will be a 12-week internship beginning May 18th, 2020 and ending August 7th, 2020.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• User research recruiting 
• Assist and take notes for user interviews, moderated and unmoderated concept tests, and help with surveys
• Summarize and produce reports from the user interviews and user testing
• End-to-end practice of user research from recruiting to facilitation guides and everything in between
• Gain exposure to a variety of types of research from interviews to surveys and moderated to unmoderated
• Learn how to integrate user research into UX process flows, working closely with product, UX design, engineering, and stakeholders across the company
• Learn tangible ways user research informs product design

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Background in a social science,(e.g., psychology, sociology, behavioral economics), HCI, User Research or a related field
• Currently enrolled in a graduate level program or recently graduated from a program teaching user research
• Basic experience conducting user research and testing, running social science experiments, or conducting interview or observations

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES

• Curious. What assumptions are being made? Where are we right, and where are we wrong? 
• Passionate. For science. For human behavior. For good data. 
• Self-motivated. You take the lead on accomplishing your tasks without much guidance. 
• Organized. It takes a lot of coordination to do user research, especially with multiple people involved. 

Outstanding candidates will also have design-related skills and a passion for the healthcare industry.
