WP Engine has found success in working with agency partners (web development, digital, full-service, PR, etc.) to grow partners' WordPress practices, and in turn, grow our leadership in the WordPress platform space.

The Agency Marketing Manager is responsible for growing business opportunities, and thus revenue, through a portfolio of key agency partnerships. The position requires a strategic problem solver who can develop marketing programs to maintain awareness and demand generation with existing partners and can also build co-marketing strategies together with select partners to help grow their WordPress businesses. The Agency Marketing Manager will not only create the strategies, but will also manage execution of defined strategies through both internal and external resources and roll up their sleeves to implement, as necessary. The ideal candidate has exceptional interpersonal, communication and marketing skills and can track, measure and report results. This position reports to the Senior Director of Global Agency Marketing.
The day to day.

  • Create partner segmentation strategies; define and implement awareness and demand generation programs to and with a select set of agency partners around the world.
  • Understand position vis-a-vis competitors and define strategies that create and maintain competitive advantage with our agency partners.
  • Develop co-marketing plans wih top agency partners. Project lead the execution of those plans, working together with internal resources, including creative, content, event, and ABM teams, and with external contractors, as needed, to ensure that these co-marketing plans are implemented and drive intended results.
  • Work with WP Engine marketing teams to ensure a compelling portfolio of co-marketing offerings for our partners.
  • Track performance of the campaigns, share that information back with partners, and find opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Report campaign performance, areas of strength, challenges, and opportunities for improvement to management. Adjust campaigns accordingly to improve success.
  • Drive cross-functional team performance to achieve opportunity creation goals.
  • Work collaboratively with Partner Account Managers; sales, marketing, support, product and marketing teams; WP Engine management; agency partner teams and others, as necessary, to implement defined objectives.
  • Implement other marketing strategy development and tactical execution tasks as requested by Senior Director, Global Agency Marketing, to achieve team, business unit and company goals.
  • Some domestic and/or international travel (in compliance with CDC guidelines and company safety policies).


Your skills and expertise.

  • A combination of a creative-problem-solver and analytical problem solver, basing decisions on available data.
  • Ability to understand WP Engine technology offerings and how they combine with agency partner offerings to deliver solutions for end clients.
  • A strong communicator who can deliver anything from a well-written email to an executive presentation.
  • A focused self-starter.
  • An easy personality that remains flexible within the natural chaos and excitement of a fast-paced environment.
  • An experienced marketer who develops and implements creative campaigns that get results.
  • Comfortable working 1x1 with the marketing leader at an agency to co-develop and lead co-marketing campaigns.


Minimum qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience developing and managing marketing programs. Agency experience is a plus.
  • Experience with SaaS and/or Platform-as-a-Service companies targeting mid-market and enterprise customers.
  • Educated in marketing, business, and/or communications.
  • Global experience is a plus, including enabling a globally distributed sales force.
