Responsibilities

Product marketing is the voice of the product team to our customers.

  • Embed yourself into the product development teams so you can deeply understand what we’re working on and proactively identify marketing opportunities
  • Craft, test, and refine value propositions
  • Establish a consistent tone and language for all customer-facing marketing materials
  • Actively seek customer feedback and act as a voice of the customer in product strategy conversations
  • Serve as the primary interface between product and the marketing & brand teams
  • Build creative go-to-market plans for new features, including internal events to generate excitement amongst Volusion employees
  • Own the content calendar for new feature announcements
  • Recruit customers to provide feedback on new feature concepts and prototypes

What does success look like?

  • Every customer has the opportunity to learn about every new feature that we release, and are informed about what’s coming in the next few months
  • All customers and potential customers clearly understand the value that each feature offers
  • Our newly released features far surpass our target metrics for adoption
  • You know our customers, our personas, and our competitors like you know your best friends
  • Be customer focused and learn how to kick butt at product marketing

  • Bachelor's degree desired
  • At least 2 years’ of experience in product marketing, product management, or marketing
  • Ability to translate technical language into materials that convey value to customers
  • Ability to think on your feet and come up with solutions on the fly
  • Ability to communicate recommendations to both peers and company leaders
  • Strong interest in learning and expanding your personal toolbox of skills
  • High emotional intelligence
