Category Marketing Manager
The Category Marketing Manager is a full-time position on the Retail Marketing Team at Whole Foods Market. This team member will have a digital-centric mindset and work in close partnership with E-commerce, category merchants, and internal marketing teams to define, execute and measure marketing programs and related category marketing initiatives and promotions. This team member must be a meticulous executer, managing multiple projects within a fast-paced environment, while also serving as a strategic thought leader. It is imperative that this team member have strong business acumen, sound customer understanding and possess strong knowledge of marketing. A “test and learn” mentality and the ability to translate goals into actions are critical to success in the role.
**This position is not fully remote and will eventually require two to three days per week in our downtown Austin office. Relocation is provided for non-local candidates.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the coordination and execution of marketing programs for the Culinary department.
- Define and communicate the program objectives, strategies, requirements, and updates of relevant marketing programs to key stakeholder groups.
- Develop strong and collaborative working relationships with E-commerce, merchandising and internal marketing teams.
- Partner with internal channel and creative teams to ensure program marketing plans deliver on aligned to objectives and strategies.
- Support strategic planning efforts by mining and analyzing customer insights and internal and external data sources.
- Work closely with analytic teams to measure program efficacy and report out to key stakeholders.
- Demonstrate agility and the ability to prioritize and multitask across various projects and workstreams.
- Be an expert on the competitive landscape and identify implications to the business.
- Serve as a steward and champion for Culinary with internal and external teams.
- Support other projects, as assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- 5 years of relevant marketing experience at a well-established retailer, CPG or top-tier company with demand generation / performance marketing experience.
- Strong business acumen and a proven track record delivering business results through high impact marketing programs across multiple channels.
- Expertise in customer-facing communication with an eye for good creative.
- Demonstrated ability to translate quantitative and qualitative data into insights, and insights into action.
- Ability to build and nurture relationships and forge partnerships with cross-functional Team Members
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and listening and tailors communication approach to specific situations and audiences.

- BA/BS/BBA degree required.
- Requires travel approximately 10-15%, as needed.
