ShipEngine has the opportunity for a dynamic Content Marketing Specialist to join our growing team. The primary objective of this role will be to generate more traffic for ShipEngine’s website and more trials for the ShipEngine product. While this Content Marketing Specialist will be expected to assist with all aspects of ShipEngine’s marketing program, the bulk of her or his responsibilities will focus on creating content in various forms.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute content campaigns that raise awareness and drive new leads/trials
- Write blog posts, case studies, guides, emails, social media content, white papers and ebooks that inform and entertain
- Turn advanced technological concepts into easy-to-understand and digestible content
- Promote content on social media, through partner channels and to relevant online audiences and platforms
- Follow SEO best practices for digital content
- Edit the work of others and manage relationships with vendors and contractors
- Evaluate event opportunities and determine the best level of participation (attend, speak, sponsor, exhibit, etc.)
- Calculate the return on investment of participation in specific events
- Assist in the hosting of meetups and other internal events
- Build strong relationships across internal departments (product, development, sales) and with ShipEngine partners and users
- Proactively seek out and recommend content, event and partnership opportunities
- Bring a creative mindset to work each day, along with a laser focus on meeting deadlines and working efficiency
- Other marketing-related duties as needed
Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum two (2) years' experience in communications and/or content marketing
- Writing experience on technical topics (portfolio required)
- Comfort working in teams and autonomously
- The desire to take end-to-end ownership of any given task, communicating progress as needed and driving toward successful completion
- Outstanding communication skills (written, oral and interpersonal)
- The ability to write well while also using data to measure results and change approach when needed.
Preferred:
- Experience with WordPress, Google Analytics, HubSpot, and popular social media channels
- Marketing experience within the technology industry
