The Role

PLANOLY is looking for a Digital Marketing Content Editor to join our rapidly growing company based in Austin, Texas. Working closely with the content, creative, and SEO teams – the Digital Marketing Content Editor will play a key role in driving success and helping the PLANOLY community. This is a full time role based out of Austin, Texas.

  • Create industry-best editorial content for digital marketing channels (PLANOLY blog, newsletter, social media channels, and PLANOLY’s website) 
  • Maintain high standards, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and adherence to brand guidelines
  • Communicate your ideas and activities with clarity and conviction to push forward proposed initiatives
  • Strong ability to plan, develop and coordinate multiple projects in a self-directed fashion
  • Generate many new and original ideas to bring stories, campaigns, and content themes to life
  • Analytical, with the ability to consistently track to ensure continued success of your editorial efforts
  • Problem-solver, someone who proactively identifies potential roadblocks and can independently ideate on solutions
  • Coach and leader, managing direct reports to help them develop both technically and professionally 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Maintain a user-focused editorial strategy and calendar – aimed to drive organic search, solve user’s marketing pain points, and grow the brand
  • Lead editorial content development process end to end, working with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Work closely with the editorial coordinator, SEO specialist, and digital marketing director to plan, organize, and maintain the editorial calendar – including the PLANOLY blog, newsletter, and video content
  • Grow the PLANOLY editorial channels with user-focused content to drive business goals
  • Coach and manage the editorial coordinator, leading and delegating with clear guidelines
  • Ideate and write well-researched, thoughtful, and engaging content within deadlines that will resonate with core audience personas and unique readers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to reach shared goals and drive successful campaigns – knowing when it's important to step in to support a project or share information
  • Help establish and drive processes and frameworks that enable efficient and effective working norms 
  • Determine breaking news and create a compelling story within a limited timeframe
  • Compose inspirational and galvanizing copy for editorial or social as needed – appropriately incorporating the brand voice, wit, and humor into your writing
  • Report weekly and monthly editorial analytics on Google Analytics and Hubspot to gain insight into content's performance that correlates directly to creative strategies that ensure continued success and growth of the PLANOLY blog

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing or closely related field
  • Minimum of 3+ years focused on copywriting and marketing in the social media landscape
  • Enthusiasm and passion for creative branding and translating stories and trends into engaging user experiences
  • Understand how PLANOLY fits into the social media landscape, and are well versed in the social media industry
  • Professional writing and editing experience – comfortable writing 3-4 blogs per month, owning a weekly newsletter, and are able to dive into a piece of writing to provide constructive feedback 
  • Have some management experience. You've ideally overseen a team member of a small team and will be comfortable having contributors report to you 
  • Hubspot experience is highly preferred but not required
