Position Summary:
The Director of Communications will oversee all communications involving the organization, including developing and implementing a communications strategy. The individual will manage all aspects of internal and external communication, including public relations, traditional communications, and social media. They will work closely and collaboratively with senior leadership and their respective counterparts to develop and deploy effective and impactful communications for all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop and implement communication and social media strategy for internal and external communications, including digital and traditional mediums.
  • Oversees corporate communications and branding in various online and print platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and industry magazines.
  • Collaborate with peers, including the content team and external agency(s), to execute a communication plan.
  • Assists executive leadership in developing presentations, speeches, and other critical corporate messages. Serve as a market-facing ambassador for the brand.
  • Utilize public relations (PR) to increase brand awareness and positively influence public perception.
  • Build and maintain media relationships, crafting key messages, press releases, and monitoring metrics.
  • Create a media training program to prepare spokespeople and craft by-lines, presentations, and talking points representing their voice and SparkCognition's vision, mission, and narrative.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to plan, create, and launch communication campaigns and compelling stories around SparkCognition announcements and initiatives.
  • Organize and author short-form content including blogs, posts, and tweets to promote community following and thought leadership,
  • Makes sure all company material has consistent messaging and branding, ensuring quality control across all forms of communications.
  • Responsible for the brand's social media activities that include social media planning, automation, advertising, content creation, publishing, engagement, and analytics.
  • Provides consistent and timely information to employees through various communications programs, including the intranet, newsletter(s), town halls, surveys, and e-mail communication.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in marketing, communications, or related discipline, with strong public relations and social media knowledge.
  • 7+ years of marketing communication management experience.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and speaking skills
  • Experience in creating, editing, and promoting written and visual content
  • Deep experience building and maintaining high-value relationships with media
  • Ability to offer sound media relations advice to senior leadership
  • Results-oriented - proven ability to prioritize, drive, and achieve results through self and others under time pressure, volume considerations, and an uncompromising approach to hitting deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and juggle priorities based on the needs of the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively with counterparts in a cross-functional capacity.
  • Highly organized with an ability to manage resources, budgets, and personnel.
  • Data-driven with the ability to draw insights from complex data and qualitative input.
  • Self-starter with entrepreneurial mindset, exceptional managerial and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working in B2B technology-based business. SaaS, AI, and analytics knowledge a plus.
