We are seeking a Director of Product Marketing who can lead a team of rock star PMKs to even greater achievements.  As PMK Director, you’ll leverage deep knowledge of product management and product marketing principles to help your team develop comprehensive portfolio and go-to-market strategies for Blackbaud’s products and services.  Within your portfolio, you’ll set investment priorities, establish demand generation strategies, develop customer advocates, and optimize sales enablement.  You’ll also be part of the team responsible for the financial health of your portfolio as you architect and enact strategies that increase the profitability of offers in your market. 

Details of the role include:

Lead the development and execution of go-to-market plans:

  • Oversee the sizing and definition of market segments, understand the competitive dynamics of targeting, positioning, pricing, packaging and differentiation for solutions in your portfolio.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of your portfolio and the needs of our customers to guide your team in establishing a winning position for assigned solutions.
  • Oversee effective and consistent content management of thought leadership materials and sales collateral for your portfolio
  • Drive a world class customer experience through a value-add engagement plan through partnership with Sales Enablement and Customer Success.

 

Empower and influence internal and external stakeholders:

  • Advocate for your portfolio with executive audiences by articulating a comprehensive view of opportunities and challenges with your portfolio.
  • Leverage your reputation as a senior market expert to partner with senior leadership in Marketing, Sales, Product Management, Partners, and Customer Success to ensure your team can be successful in the short and long-term agenda for your portfolio.
  • Ensure that the organization is effectively equipped and collaboratively educated on our strategy to enable full achievement of revenue goals.

 

Effectively manage your business:

  • Arm front-lines and market influencers with value/differentiation presentations, pitch decks, demonstrations, call scripts, case studies, web content, white papers, ROI modeling.
  • Maintain strong partnership and collaboration with Demand Generation, Product Marketing, and Vertical Marketing teams to design and deliver lead generation initiatives across every channel.
  • Leverage available business analytics and market data and architect reports as needed to fully understand the opportunities and challenges inherent to your segment and to set meaningful goals to improve performance.

 

 

Required Experience and Skills

  • 7+ years of software Product Marketing leadership experience
  • 10+ years in software, preferably SaaS
  • Experience and a track record of driving adoption, growth and results for an established product 
  • Experience launching new solutions to market
  • Experience developing and growing a high-performing team 
  • BS/BA degree, MBA preferred
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and mental acuity
  • Business savvy with proven ability to develop, promote, and execute a business development plan
  • Exceptional ability to communicate effectively with multiple audiences, from C-level to entry level, internal and external.
  • Proven influencing skills with top executives, working cross-functionally and with clients/prospects
  • Self-starter, creative thinker, excellent listener and communicator
  • Strong affinity for sales team success, prior sales experience a plus
  • Proven marketplace relationship building skills with industry influencers, pivotal clients
  • Proven record of thriving in fast-paced and matrixed environment
  • Willingness to relocate to the thriving, fast-paced tech seen in beautiful Charleston, SC or Austin, TX

 

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Experienced with salesforce.com or similar CRM, expert-level proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Prior experience working with other nonprofit software or services providers
  • Experience working for or volunteering with a nonprofit or nonprofit board experience
  • Prior experience working with SaaS companies
