Job Overview:

We are looking for a social media guru to manage the growth and engagement across our relevant social media channels– primarily Facebook and Instagram and emerging platforms like Tik Tok. This person will be a product evangelist and know the ins and outs of Spot’s product as if they created it themselves. In addition to working across internal teams to create meaningful content to grow the account, this person will also be responsible for answering all questions, comments, and messages across paid and organic posts in a helpful and timely manner. Spot has an external agency that runs paid social ads that generate hundreds of messages and questions per week.

 

Responsibilities:

Organic Social Media Management—

  • Manage Spot’s content across channels using a planning tool like Sprout Social
  • Implement an editorial content calendar and make posts that educate, inform, and inspire
  • Work across teams to stay up-to-date on relevant product updates, partner updates, and launches so our social media channels reflect applicable current events in real time
  • Encourage and increase user engagement and user-generated content
  • Analyze and adapt as you learn what resonates with our audience
  • Create and execute content pieces, posts, stories, and uploads or work with internal designers when needed
  • Keep up with, engage with, and repost Spot’s ambassadors (high profile roster of athletes like Travis Rice) and customers on social

 

Paid Social Engagement—

  • Deliver a world class customer experience by responding to all questions, comments, and messages with informative, helpful, and timely answers across organic and paid channels. Many of these questions lead to purchases when answered quickly and concisely.
  • Know Spot’s product like the back of your hand and understand when you need to clear certain language or escalate questions to the Customer Experience or Compliance teams

 

Miscellaneous—

  • Track Spot’s growing ambassador team of athletes and their duties as they relate to social media
  • Support Customer Experience team with chat that comes through the site as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Preferably based in Austin, TX (Spot’s HQ)
  • 1-3 years of experience in social media management
  • Experience or background in design and customer experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of design programs such as Sketch and Adobe Suite
  • Stellar written communication skills
  • Ability to understand product questions and articulate concise answers that go above and beyond customer expectations
  • Extremely organized and attentive to details
  • The ability to adapt to a brand voice, personality, and look + feel
  • Proactive, self-starter. Experience working in a fast-paced start-up environment is a plus
  • Love for the outdoor and sports industries is a plus. Many of Spot’s customers and target customers are adventurers and athletes
  • Ability to respond with empathy and urgency to negative comments or feedback
  • Sense of humor– leverage current memes, fail videos, and content that fits the Spot brand
  • Finger on the pulse, staying up to date with social technology and trends
