Vice President of Marketing

As the VP of Marketing you will direct and grow our marketing department.  This will include understanding our market space, leading your team, building processes, making sure they’re followed, and optimizing for value and outcomes. 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Taking ownership, accountability, and project management for all marketing deliverables and outcomes, including lead generation/maturation, sales collateral, conference planning, SEM/SEO, e-mail campaigns, etc
  • Own the entire marketing funnel. Track and optimize performance at each stage
  • Lead our current marketing team
  • Hire, train, manage, and lead all future marketing team members
  • Understand our existing marketing processes and strategies
  • Identify and rebuild current structures that are not functioning effectively
  • Build systems for collecting and tracking data in our various technologies (Zoho, HubSpot, MailChimp, Excel, etc.)
  • Analyze data to determine how to create and improve processes
  • Build systems to help guardrail processes and improve process fidelity
  • Ongoing monitoring of process fidelity through report auditing and hands-on shadowing of team members performing their tasks

What You’ll Need

To succeed in this role, it is critical that you can demonstrate:

  • That you have successfully grown and led a marketing department before. In your cover letter, please convince us that you have what it takes to consistently develop and lead an excellent marketing department
  • Sufficient understanding and hands-on experience in all relevant marketing domains (lead gen, customer retention and growth, conference/trade shows, content creation, lifecycle marketing, SEO/SEM/Social, marketing technology and tools, etc.)
  • CRM experience and comfort with pulling data and building reports
  • Intermediate to expert proficiency in data analysis
  • Expert proficiency in project management, process development, and maintenance of process fidelity

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.  Masters or PhD desirable
  • 8 years of marketing experience, with at least 3 in a leadership role as CMO, VP, or Director
  • Strong references from your previous CEO or CMO
