Job Summary:


Cart.com is looking for a dynamic individual to join the organization as a Director of Product, eCommerce. The Director of Product , eCommerce will lead the vision and execution of the product road map for the tech stack that powers Cart.com’s eCommerce platform business, including an online storefront and website theming system, sales channel management solutions, merchant payment processing and lending tools, and our api, apps and integrations engine.


This is a highly cross-functional position, requiring the management of a diverse set of stakeholders throughout the company. We see this role growing as we introduce new products and functionality to the market over time. In this position, you will prioritize and develop a coherent, well-integrated product suite that serves customers’ needs and drives business growth. This position requires a disciplined approach and focus on execution while remaining solution-centered on design strategy and problem solving with continued product feature enhancements over time.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a Team - Define, lead, and nurture the product organization. Promote the team culture and team dynamics all while representing the team to the company.
  • Deliver, iterate and perfect a human centered design thinking, customer led, product development program that produces exceptional user experiences and customer journeys
  • Craft a transformational and inspiring product vision and customer journeys that help Cart.com change industry norms while managing a broad product roadmap and prioritizing initiatives to achieve business and customer objectives
  • Teach a team of product managers how to deliver great experiences using high velocity human centered design thinking concepts and frameworks, taking pride in helping associates reach the next levels in their product building journey
  • Perform ongoing market and competitive research in our industry, keeping a structured and up to date view of our competition and industry forces at play along with the risks associated
  • Gather and use data to drive key business decisions and develop high-quality insights into our customers’ user experience and pain points
  • Utilize and optimize feedback loops from customers’ to improve voice of customer in the product development lifecycle
  • Work closely with the product and engineering leaders to continuously optimize our product delivery process
  • Groom and prioritize product backlog effectively by leading negotiation and trade-off discussions with key team leads across the organization with a data-driven mindset and ranked risk analysis of the decisions
  • Define and track product success metrics and measure outcomes to improve and iterate
  • Hold cross-functional teams accountable to delivering outcomes that will drive business results
  • Set clear expectations on projects, product launches, and coordinated release plans and work closely with the Technology, Data and Marketing teams to design, schedule and deliver in an agile environment
  • Build solutions which reduce workload for our Customer Success organization while enabling customers with valuable self-service capabilities
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to develop campaigns to drive product adoption, go-to-market releases and utilization of new and existing features
  • Work with Operations leadership team and personnel to identify software improvements to increase operational efficiencies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field with a strong emphasis on technology (Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Analytics, Mathematics and/or Business). MBA or advanced degree in Engineering/Computer Science is preferred, but not required
  • 6-10 of years of Product Management experience, at least 3 of which include experience with cloud and / or SaaS solutions
  • Have been primarily responsible for standing up or running an entire customer driven program that delivered a well-known product (or large portion of one) with an exceptional experience from a well known brand/source
  • Focused on delivering business outcomes and moving metrics—not just shipping features
  • Extensive experience in user interface and/or user experience design (UI/UX)
  • Extensive experience with APIs and third-party integrations
  • Experience with building/designing/launching e-commerce functionality preferred
  • Track record of successfully launching products and managing the product life cycle
  • Ability to define a long-term product or business strategy, while executing on short-term product development goals and maintaining an understanding business impact and trade-offs
  • Strong understanding of technical constraints while effectively balancing quality and speed
  • Ability to lead teams through ideation, research, and the natural ambiguity that occurs when defining new features
  • Strong skills around cross-functional collaboration, influence, and communication; a proven ability to achieve clarity and drive focus in a complex and dynamic environment, including creating alignment with senior leaders
  • A deep understanding and empathy for end-users
  • Proven track record of listening deeply to customers, understanding their problems, and applying logical and elegant solutions to those problems

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in eCommerce products, shopping cart systems, selling online, channel management software, running an online store, Amazon fulfillment, headless commerce apis
  • Experience in merchant payment solutions, merchant lending and receivables financing products, advanced taxation scenarios

Our headquarters is located in Austin, Tx at the address listed. The majority of our roles are flexible hybrid for employees who live within the cities where we have offices and remote for employees who are not located in those cities.
