An Insider's view of Kazoo

How would you describe the company’s work-life balance?

Kazoo treats its employees like adults. That may sound trite, but it's true; we trust our coworkers to get their work done and respect that we all have lives outside the office. We have an open PTO policy and a flexible schedule which allows folks to hold nonstandard work hours. Not feeling pressure to give in to “presenteeism” is a huge plus.

Austen

Scrum Master

What's the biggest problem your team is solving?

We work to develop, grow, and scale our renewals process. With 700 customers, the biggest obstacle we faced was how we could make the renewal process scalable for our growing customer base, without minimizing the customer experience. We’re constantly improving our process to meet the needs of our customers as well as the needs of our business.

Dre

Program Manager

What makes someone successful on your team?

A deep passion for the work we do, the discipline to do the hard work day in and day out, the willingness to be uncomfortable because you know that discomfort brings growth, the ability to brush off the rejection you get on a daily basis, a natural curiosity that drives your ability to ask more questions, and a desire to have fun!

Erin

Executive Director, Market Development

How do you make yourself accessible to the rest of the team?

I’m a believer that making myself more accessible to my direct reports helps build a stronger team and fosters a culture of collaboration and creative thinking. I have weekly 1:1s with all my team members to not only talk about near-term work priorities but also about their motivations and career aspirations on a frequent basis.
