Product Manager

Code Galaxy is seeking an experienced Product Manager to help drive software and curriculum development across all product verticals including in our retail stores and online.  This person will serve as the voice of the user and develop, design and launch experiences that drive growth and engagement in those products. They will work directly with stakeholders throughout the business to understand areas of opportunity and present cohesive experiences for our customers. This person will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

In this role, you will: 

  • Cultivate a deep understanding of our members throughout their lifecycle, and advocate for solutions based on their needs and pain points.

  • Offer data-driven insights about member engagement and propose features that have a meaningful impact on member engagement.

  • Define, manage, maintain  roadmap and prioritize based on member impact and business need.

  • Generate detailed documentation, communicate these requirements to the appropriate teams and ensure timely cross-functional execution.

  • Partner with the design team to develop a cohesive user experience across all member touchpoints.

  • Participate in agile rituals such as daily standups, grooming, planning and retrospectives.

  • Work with a dedicated team of software engineers to scope, plan, and execute the short-term development queue.

  • Develop deep relationships with stakeholders throughout the business and ensure there is alignment with the wider strategy of the organization.

About you:

  • 2+ years of Product Management Experience.

  • Exceptional communication skills, especially the ability to work closely with experts in a different field, understand their needs, and translate them into software.

  • Experience working in an agile scrum team.

  • Highly collaborative and willing to give and accept constructive feedback.

  • Ability to create strong user-centered consumer experiences.

  • Self starter; ability to act autonomously.

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills.

  • Constant attention to detail.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Product Management experience – significant work experience working directly with agile software engineering teams to build and deliver high-quality software;

  • Education – formal (e.g. college or bootcamp coursework) or informal study (e.g. workshops or independent research) in how to develop scalable software by building self-organizing and continuously-improving problem-solving teams; 

  • Analytical approach – an eagerness to use both instinct and data analysis (e.g. writing SQL including joining data across tables) to make decisions;

  • Communication skills – experience listening to and working with people from different professional disciplines and across the company’s various levels;

  • Vision – a point-of-view on how people use software to accomplish their goals, and how this may change in the future;

  • Thinking out of the box – a penchant for identifying unusual and unexpected edge cases in spaces like recurring billing and warranty claims;

  • Stakeholder-centric problem solving – Passion for working with business teams (Retention Marketing, Member Support, and Supply Chain) to understand and solve their problems using software;

  • Ecommerce / Direct-to-Consumer experience – Familiarity with how modern brands use ecommerce, recurring payments, and community engagement to interact with their Members.
