This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on product manager to be a part of a new product launch of a SaaS project management platform. You will work closely with the CEO and the VP of Product to help define the roadmap and specifications for new features and improvements across the web-based platform, its integrations and accessory mobile apps. Your work will be instrumental in delivering a user-centered design approach to our product and development team, and ensuring the delivery our product-to-market fit.

This position is based in Austin, TX and reports directly to the VP of Product.

Responsibilities

Product Definition & Management

While all of the responsibilities below are important, the single most important activity that this role performs is the writing of the specification of the features to be built by the New Zealand-based development team for each product release. The documentation of features needs to be written, iterated upon and approved prior to each sprint by the VP of Product. This documentation should align with the product strategy / roadmap and include solutions to the most important problems raised by customers and through user testing. This includes the following activities:

• Write product specs and feature documentation, aligned with generative user research and resulting user stories
• Create and manage Jira workflow on product features, issues and bugs in each sprint
• Resolve developer roadblocks and/or technical or product issues
• Participate in daily sprint meetings with development team
• Help to scope & prioritize product roadmap in collaboration with the VP of Product

User Research & Analysis

• Collaborate with VP of Product and UX team on design sprints and user feedback studies to develop viable user stories and product feature sets
• Analyze customer feedback and interpret the product usage data to complete the feedback loop
• Incorporate user stories into product specification and feature documentation.

QA

• Perform full workflow testing, to ensure that the product being developed matches the spec and aligns with user stories.
• Perform regular user testing, to ensure that what we’re building is intuitive and fit for purpose
• Create and manage test tickets to ensure product quality

Experience

As the crux of our product is our “Gantt Chart” feature, the candidate for this role must have advanced knowledge of the workings of Microsoft Project.

Other experience required includes:

• 3+ years of product management experience with a SaaS platform
• Have 3+ years formal Project Management experience (PMP certification required; PMO experience preferred)
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to deliver MVP solutions for complex problems
• Understanding of user-centered software development
• Ability to summarize complex problems
• Attention to detail
• Experience with remote teams
• Knowledge of project management
