Senior Product Manager, Event Detection
Who We Are
The name ThousandEyes was born from two big ideas: the power to see things not ordinarily possible and the ability to collect insights from a multitude of vantage points. As organisations rely more on cloud services and the Internet, the network has become a black box they can't understand. Our Internet and cloud intelligence platform delivers the only collectively powered view of the Internet, cloud, and SaaS platforms, helping enterprises and service providers work together to identify problems before it impacts revenue, damages brand reputation, or halts employee productivity.
In August 2020, Cisco Systems completed the acquisition of ThousandEyes, which now forms the ThousandEyes Business Unit within Cisco’s Network Services Business Group and is a foundational component of Cisco’s growing Observability business.
About the Role
ThousandEyes is looking for a strong senior product manager to drive our intelligent event detection, alerting, and 3rd party ITSM platforms to take our product to the next level. This role includes direct product management ownership over our alerting and integration platforms, as well as helping drive an exciting new initiative around intelligent event detection across our product lines.
You will be a part of the ThousandEyes core platform product team, whose mission is to allow customers to productionalize their ThousandEyes environment, taking a horizontal view of all of the data collected by our product. This allows our customers to correctly triage network or application issues, visualize their network and application performance, plan for and manage their account usage, and seamlessly interface with other ITSM tools using our API and alerting platform. This is a role that touches every part of the ThousandEyes product and requires working cross functionally with internal customers and stakeholders, as well as external customers.
What You'll Do
- Build a world class event detection and alerting platform that gives actionable insights to our customers in order to drastically reduce their mean time to resolution on an issue.
- Increase our product stickiness by deeply integrating with our enterprise customers everyday workflows and systems.
- Work across Cisco to scale out innovative solutions around event detection that can help drive powerful go-to-market strategies across the company.
- Engage directly and regularly with customers to gain an in-depth understanding of their business processes and product needs, validate solutions, and develop product champions
- Find the needle in the haystack, identifying patterns from data, and helping people use intelligence to accelerate root cause.
About You
- Proven product management experience, with demonstrated success in product delivery, ideally at an Enterprise SaaS company (even better if in an Internet Infrastructure company)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent technical experience, higher level degree (MBA, MS, etc.) a bonus but not required
- Excellent verbal and written skills and the willingness to present and defend your idea
- Customer-focused, self-starter with high levels of initiative, commitment, energy, and comfort working in ambiguous environments
- Experience or comfort with data analysis principles, event detection, and large data sets
- A collaborative spirit and comfort working in a team environment
- Ideally some knowledge of Internet Protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, BGP)

We Are Cisco
#WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference. Here’s how we do it.
We embrace digital, and help our customers implement change in their digital businesses. Some may think we’re "old" (30 years strong!) and only about hardware, but we’re also a software company. And a security company. An AI/Machine Learning company. We even invented an intuitive network that adapts, predicts, learns, and protects. No other company can do what we do - you can’t put us in a box!
But "Digital Transformation" is an empty buzz phrase without a culture that allows for innovation, creativity, and yes, even failure (if you learn from it.)
Day to day, we focus on the give and take. We give our best, we give our egos a break and we give of ourselves (because giving back is built into our DNA.) We take accountability, we take bold steps, and we take difference to heart. Because without diversity of thought and a commitment to equality for all, there is no moving forward.
So, you have colorful hair? Don’t care. Tattoos? Show off your ink. Like polka dots? That’s cool.
We recognize that diverse teams make the strongest teams, and we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.
